Default Timer change to power point

2018 XLT 5.0. The dash mounted power point is timed to stay powered for 75 minutes after engine off according to the manual. My Garmin dash cam wants me to use a 12 volt source other than a USB port, so for temporary use of the cam in this truck, the power point is the option. The camera will continue to operate until dead at 20 minutes. Plugging and unplugging isn’t desirable, like the auto stop start button. Is the timing removable through programming, without killing the power point?

You want to power the Garmin 24x7?

Option 1: Run a dedicated line to the fuse block. Get an Add a fuse and use an unused always live outlet in the fuse block, or

Option 2: Run a line directly to the battery, with a fuse in it that is sufficient to power the Garmin.

No, temporary use in this truck. Just my camper hauler. The power point is perfect, just don’t want to unplug and replug, or kill the dash cam battery every day.

I ran into same thing yesterday, jumped in here to see how to turn it off on my rear plug on my 17' SCab. Looks like timer can be turned off in FORScan.

What is FORScan?

FORScan is software used in conjunction with a specific type of OBDII adapter that enables you to make changes to your truck's default modules' settings. Some popular things that can be changed are: adding heated and/or cooled seat icons & heated steering wheel to Sync 2 (pic1, pic2) & Sync 3 (pic1, pic2) home screen & climate menu, disabling the Powerpoint 12V timeout or setting it to whatever you want, adding engine/trans temps above the gauge (pic), disabling the double honk, enabling autofold mirrors, enabling global window open/close , changing heated steering wheel to full hot, enabling radio to be turned on with vehicle completely off (2015's), adding the ability to view/reply to text messages and enter NAV destination while in motion.
For a complete list of all the changes that can be made for 2015-20 F150s see my spreadsheets here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...#gid=815852466
