Time has come
Well, the time has come for me to unload my 18 STX. We recently moved and the new parking garage was manageable but tighter than I wanted to deal with with a full size truck. After nearly 30 years of owning Fords (aside from 6 months with a Hyundai and 5 years with a Ram), I traded my truck in on a new 2024 Nissan Frontier Pro-X. I was kicking around the new redesigned Ranger and Colorado as well, but in the end, I got a better deal on the Nissan and it is the last of the midsize trucks without a 4 cyl turbo. I'm not one of those people that thinks turbo engines are inherently more difficult or prone to failure, I just prefer the idea of an engine without one for a daily driver (my F150 was a 2.7 and I had no issues). The Rangers were the most expensive of the 3 when you compared like for like as far as options. The Colorado was the cheapest, and had their "simulated leather" seats and the Bose upgraded system. The two concerns that pushed me away from the Colorado are 1) it is a Chevy. They're not exactly known for reliability, and I didn't want to have in the back of my head "when is this thing going to break down on me". 2) even though it is a 4 cyl, it still has cylinder deactivation that cuts it down to 2 cylinders at steady cruise. I had the MDS in the Ram and it never really bothered me, but the thought of cutting down to 2 cylinders just didn't sit well with me. The Frontier is nice and well optioned, rides nice, and every Nissan my family has owned has run forever. I'm sure I'll pop in from time to time and contribute when I can, but I have a lot of reading and learning to do on the new truck. Who knows how long until the smaller interior gets to me and I move back to fullsize.
The truck I traded in for my 18 STX was an 06 Frontier king cab. The truck had the V6 engine, had plenty of power and rode well enough but man that interior quality was the lowest of the low quality. The cheap plastic all over the dash was cheap as hell and scratched just by looking at it. LOL. Of course, this was an older model and it was a base model with no power anything. Enjoy your new truck.
Might I recommend the Club Frontier forum. Tons of helpful people there just like around here.

I browsed that form for a few weeks while I was looking and joined the day I bought. Appreciate the recommendation. I’ve joined vehicle specific forums for every vehicle I’ve owned since early 2000s when I had my 90 Mustang (hence the username).

Good luck with your new wheels. I down sized once from full size F150 to Toyota SR5 which only lasted 2 years. I simply haul around too much heavy stuff and didn’t like the much smaller cab. It was however trouble free which is a lot more than I can sadly say about my 2017 F150 which I purchased new. If I didn’t have the Ford ESP on mine it would have cost me a small fortune the past year. It’s required 4 new oil pans on the 3.5 which is ridiculous. Ford refuses to properly repair it with the revised aluminum oil pan used on the newer 3.5 engines. I have less than 30k miles on it so all these repair issues are unacceptable and it will probably be my last Ford. Check back with the forum and let us know how you are liking your new truck!
I will. Had it a week and I already bought some subs and an amp and will be building a box this weekend, lol.
i drove one from that generation back in 03-04 when I was in the market (a Desert Funner), and the interior sucked hard. All the way up to 21 it was cheap trash. The 22+ redesign really refined the interior would have never even looked at one with the previous interior.
