I have a screw so I just keep the rear seats up and have weather tech floor mat. The bottoms of the seats in the back are carpet covered and attrack allot of fur and the backs of the front cloth seats get dirty. I solved that by going to Katzkins leather. I added removing any carpet on the seats that is normally left on the seats like the bottoms of the rear seats to vinyl. Now all you have to do is wipe down the areas that your dog leans or rubs on.

Oh I have a German Shepherd.

Cool

I realize that this is an older thread, but thought It might be worth posting here to see what might be suggested.
We travel across country (AZ-VT) in our 2108 F-150 SCrew with our two (50lb and 70 lb) dogs. The 70lb is getting older and has some arthritis in her back legs so has some trouble getting into the truck unless the seat is folded up so she can jump up onto the floor of the back seat area first. Once she's in the cab, that portion of the seat gets folded back down for them both to rest on. The wider portion of the seat stays put and usually has items packed in front of it covered with blankets for padding
I want to be able to fold the narrower (passenger's side) portion of the seat back up for when she gets in and out of the truck to reduce the height of the jump in and out Given that situation, I thought something like the Orvis Backseat Extender that was mentioned earlier might work to both fill the gap in front of the narrower seat and then be taken out and placed on the ground to double as a landing platform for when she gets out of the truck. Obviously it would need to be really quite sturdy as well as be relatively light weight for my ease in placing it both in and out.
Does anyone know of any readymade solution that would be like this; or, otherwise, any suggestions?
I had thought of using one of the seat extenders on Amazon, but most of those don't take into consideration the fact that one portion of the seat is narrower (by far) than the other, or that a portion of the seat cover might need to be folded up independently of the other "half" to give her access to the truck floor for when she gets in and out.

Thanks! These were both Rescue pups (now both 11 yrs old) from an organization called "Out of the Pits".They love the ride including staying in motel rooms when we don't travel with a travel trailer (1998 Northwood Nash 19B). The female (Rosie) doesn't like ramps or stairs (tried both) so have been looking for an alternative to those.
I think I may use a Chewy mailing box trimmed down to fit in the space - it's just the right height and width and with a small piece of laminated panel on the top and bottom, should support her weight just fine and shouldn't give her any second thoughts about using it. When set out easily on the ground, it matches up well with the height of the step bars on the truck.

I feel your pain. We lost one last year that had no jumping ability left and HATED ramps. But, her front legs were still strong and I could pat the side of something and she'd put her front paws up and I could lift under the back of her thighs and butt. Since I've got a topper, they get both seats folded up and nice beds on the cab floor.

Anyway, it might be worth looking into EPS or polystyrene foam blocks. They are pretty tough and light and can be sawed or hot cut to size. Something like this:
https://hotwirefoamfactory.com/036B-...FoamBlock.html

Amazon has some but don't know if they have big ones, but they can be glued together and then shaped.

We've also got one of those dog back seat hammocks or whatever that strap to the headrests that we've used in a sedan or back seat of an SUV when we couldn't fold down the seats. It's got a zipper down the middle and to remove or move one side you can just pop the quick clips on the headrest straps and let it sag down, then put it back. The one we have wasn't expensive (at the time, now everything is) and it held two dog beds and three dogs fine with nothing in the footwell to support it. Also keeps the hair off stuff you do put in the footwell.

We also have a Rosie. A bit of a size difference
