Default Is there a skid plate missing on my truck?

Hi all, bought a used 2019 F150 Crewcab 4x4 with 3.5l Ecoboost. Was changing the oil and filter and noticed what looked like brackets for a skid/protection plate in the area of the tranny. I have the metal skid plate at the front of the truck, and also a metal skip plate for the transfer case. But, I noticed brackets and attachment points for what I assume is a cover to protect the tranny. I just happen to have a friend that also has a F150 that is a 2018 that he purchased used as well. His is the same way, has the brackets but no cover. Are we missing something, or do certain models have a different skid plate and all of the frames have the mounting points whether you get the plate or not?

They normally come with a fiber board protector/sound deadner. It's not a skid plate. Do you have pictures of the brackets?

They don’t hold up…so they either fall off naturally or people toss them on purpose. I got rid of mine because it’s worthless.
