From what I can read about the TSB, all that is replaced is the hose. I keep reading on here about check valves though. What is actually being replaced?

I wonder about that as well. I had mine done and the service tech did refer to the check valve so I wonder if it is part of the hose. It has a stronger spray pattern though so maybe whatever they replaced was on its way out for a while. I have a hard time believing it is just a hose replacement though as why would the new one not freeze up if it is just a piece of tubing. And it should not freeze at all if you use the proper fluid. I have to think it was something mechanical like the internal piece of a check valve failing. Maybe someone has installed the new part on their own and can share a picture.

Thumbs down Frozen wiper/washer fluid

I use washer fluid rated to -25f and it freezes in my 2015 F-150 SCREW. The fluid in the reservoir bottle doesn't freeze, just in the lines. The situation becomes dangerous when you can't clean the windshield which can prevent you seeing. Like others, I've gotten good at pulling over to grab a few hands full of snow. NOT impressed with the situation since I paid over 40K for this truck. Area dealerships aren't even interested in fixing the problem.

Drill out the check valve. Takes 5 mins. Mine did the same and we just had -20 degrees celsius and it was perfectly fine.

Here is link to fix: https://www.f150forum.com/f118/cold-...366471/index2/

sure they know, they know of a lot of defects on the truck, bad steering racks which affect the steering not centering staying to the right or left, bad designed plastic door handles, rear axle housings that were never made right, that's just a few I could go on for ever,if you are a mechanic and also know lots of firends that are also mechanics you get it fixed.forget about ford warranty they will have excuses ready for ya.
