Default Terrible Sound System FIXED!

I am posting this because it may help some of you as well. As many of you know from my previous post that I despised the sound system in my 2015 Platinum vs my old 2012 Platinum. My old system would record CDs to the system itself and the new one will not. Well I knew I had to move into the current times and I went and got myself an IPOD and loaded all my CDs into my computer and then put them onto the IPOD. When I plugged in the IPOD and played it the sound was improved almost to the quality of the previous truck, I said almost as the smaller subwoofer is not the equal of the old under the seat model. It is now louder, stronger, and has way more quality sound. The SIRIUS radio was really bad and an actual CD was not much better but the IPOD was Good To Go! I guess the input for the other 2 sources is not up to the job.

I'm leaving the NAV card plugged into the SD, iPhone charger in the USB.

The Nav card has to be in the slot to work. It has 2 usb ports which charge the IPOD plus I can use it for other stuff if I want. It hides in the small compartment so I will just leave it there. I don't know how a thumb drive would sound but I am curious.

So you're saying that it's all about the source?

Everything I know about sound (which admittedly is not a lot) would tell me that it is incredibly unlikely that a iPod most likely playing compressed mp3s is going to sound better than a CD. It seems very counter intuitive that they would set up the system so that it sounded poor from the CD player and sat radio, but excellent from an iPod. Are you playing your iPod through bluetooth or hard wired through USB? I guess it's possible they tuned the system for the most common listening format, but something seems fishy.

I admit I was shocked but it is the truth, the difference is huge! I am playing it hard wired through the USB port.

It may be a poor quality CD player and from what I have seen posted many times in the other thread and on a similar thread I posted on a completely different forum that the signal from Sirius is poor to being compressed into too little bandwidth for all the stations. The Sirius radio 60s on 6 sounded just plain bad!

I read your other posts and I was getting ready to buy some new CDs for when my Lariat with the sony system shows up. I guess now I'll just stick to digital downloads.
