Terrible Ride from Rear

2015 F150 Guy
I've ready many of the pages in this thread (but admit not all, it's gotten pretty big), but is there an agreed upon combo from factory that results in a good ride? I can't believe that with all the combos available on the F-150, none of them provide a good ride without hopping. I want to get a 2017, but don't want to have to mess around with modifications.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Rides WAY better bone stock.
I rented one for two weeks and drove them. Side by side. The difference is astounding.

diving AKA brake dive = under sprung front end.
These trucks are marketed to rich weekenders and geriatric retirees. They rather a cushy ride and don't drive fast enough to notice the hop, or brake hard enough to notice the dive. They just don't want to throw their saccarilliac out on that damn speed bump at Costco. ; )
Also, EXPECTATION comes into play. I just read a guy say "it's a truck, you gotta expect that". Well, BS. It's fair to say, the thing is gonna handle a certain way by virtue of its solid rear axle. But the rest is kust manufacturer shortcomings.
That said,
Cheap fix= 2.0 units front and rear + helwig rear
Better=2.5 unitsfront and rear
Best=2.5s with adjustment
Do 2.5s and you won't need the Helwig.

Worst hairday ever...
Every truck I've had prior to the 2015 F150 was able to handle the rutted, pot-holed roads around my neighborhood roads just fine, kept on a straight line no problem. My 2015 first time on some of those roads the rear was all over the place, took me by surprise, thought I was going into the ditch. Rear swaybar and rear bilstein's fixed it some.

my bilstein 5100s fixed the hopping issue for me. Installed them all the way around and im very happy.

Perhaps it's because our trucks are approximately 700 lbs. lighter in weight. I know my truck rides better when it has some significant weight in the bed.

However, the Ranger is lighter than the 2015, came with Bilsteins from the factory and rides nice and straight on said roads. So I think it's also the factory shocks in the 2015 adding to the problem.

I think you're right. My 2015 rides better on the rough roads around here when I have the 250lbs of sand tubes for winter vs when they are out for summer.

The sand loads up the spring a bit which takes some of the bounce out of it. The problem is the OEM tubes don't do anything!
He looks like he's working a bit, but he couldn't budge the Fox 2.0s let alone the ICON 2.5s!
These are supposed to dampen a 1 ton leaf spring?
Those tubes are out of my 2015 FX4 with 12K on 'em.

Question for those with the still bouncing rides after replacing shocks or shackles or whatever. Are you running the Wrangler LT's? I swapped mine for the 20" Duellers and that made a huge difference in ride quality. It still needs better shocks, but handles a lot better.
