Temporary non-use of truck
#21
I have no specific experience with storing a vehicle, but one thing strikes me. If you are concerned about the gas going bad and are thinking of leaving as little amount of gas in the tank as possible, how do you get the vehicle to the gas station to blend in fresh gas on your return, without having to use the supposed bad gas to get it there?

Based on experience with a Ram truck that I seldom drove, it had a slow battery drain and would kill a battery over a period of a few weeks. I'd recommend putting a trickle charge on the battery. If you can get someone to run it once every couple of weeks, that would be good, but taking care of the gas with treatment and keeping the battery charged should be adequate.
When you do get back in the driver's seat, take it for a good 20-30 mile drive so that everything warms up to operating temperature.

Just fill the tank put some Sta-Bil in the gas and it will be fine. Don't even worry about the battery. I park my Camaro every winter for 4 months and it's fine come spring. That sits in a non heated shed where temps dip below freezing for most of the winter and the battery is fine. It started up this April like it wasn't even sitting.
