brand new 14' Focus ST was at the dealer weekly for BS issues. The engine would hit off the firewall upon hard acceleration, the moon roof made a horrible sound while open to the point where i wouldnt use it, the Sync didn't work for crap from day one, the front rotors were horribly out of round causing a nasty vibration( not warped, manufacturing defect), the right rear wheel bearing gave out at 8k miles, the rear suspension was rotting away after one winter and I washed the underside of the car after every road salting, the headliner was sagging, and the coating on the steering wheel was peeling off (sliced my hand on it a few times). The car had 13k miles on it when I couldn't take anymore and traded it in.

My 2015 XLT has a high pitched squeak over bumps from the rear suspension, the headlights are aimed at the ground, the driver side door doesn't latch even after the dealer replaced it, horrible wind noise from driver side window (constantly checking to see if it's up all the way because it sounds like it's open all the time), the passenger side window glass is delaminating, the steering column creaks and groans, but the one thing I can't take another second of is the 3rd gear shudder. It shudders so violently some times it's hard to hold on to the steering wheel. Ford tells me it's a normal

Now Chub's truck has issues, people. For real. That 3rd gear thing, if it's that bad, I think I'd fight.

I filed a claim with Ford and the regional service rep told me "it probably just needs to go through a break-in period"
Well, I'm 4,500 miles into my break-in period, still not fully broken in yet I guess.

I agree.

I have had my 2016 Platinum for 2 weeks now and also am finding paint issues that I didn't notice on the dealer lot. I doubt I would have noticed them on the lot unless the truck was perfectly clean and I had a nice sunny day. Overall, I don't think anyone will notice these except me but it is still annoying and points to poor quality control.

Will the 3rd gear issue show up on video?

I think so. I'd like to mount a go-pro under the trans to document it, but at this point I don't know if it matters. Two dealers have acknowledged it but say it's normal.

Pretty much decided I'm not spending anymore time messing with it. I'm just going to wait a little longer until the re-sale is a bit closer to what I owe and then it's gone.

years ago.... my parents had a 01 GT automatic, long story short, they had their local backwoods mechanic do a transmission flush on it, didn't put the Ford OEM fluid back in it, on the drive home from the mechanic, it hit O/D and started shaking and no kidding the dash trim around the radio popped off lol.

I have experienced the ford transmission shake. Its intense.

Sorry for the OP's troubles. I'm way to OCD to own a New Limited. I would worry about everything and anything on the truck that wasn't perfect.

Hopefully your dealer will resolve your issues!

As I mentioned in the Limited Delivery thread....

I read Ford was paying special attention to the Limited's production! They wanted to insure this was their very best product coming off the assembly line. That's the reason for all the delays.....

There is absolutely no excuse for this to leave the plant like this, Ford should be embarrassed!!

Now I might add, as long as truckers keep accepting and buying Fords lower quality trucks at such a fast pace and high volume, don't expect quality improvement!

I was looking at a 16 Platinum the other day and glanced at the bottom of the truck and said no way. Surface rust everywhere.

The only way these issues are going to get addressed is when "we" stop buying them for ridiculous amounts of money. When I passed on the 16 Platinum there was a buyer right behind me ready to take it.

Ford could charge $80K for a Limited or a Platinum and folks will still buy them.
