Take a look at "Quality Control" on the new Flagship F-150 LIMITED
So after having my $67,000 Limited (Yes, SIXTY SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR PICKUP TRUCK) for a whopping 224 miles, to say that I am VERY disappointed in Ford would be a massive understatement.
For starters, I waited months for what was supposed to be Fords flagship truck. After seeing all the dealer bulletins about extra attention prior to leaving the plant to make sure the Limiteds were the absolute best product, I felt comfortable that I would get a perfect truck for the wait/money. Buying the top product available from a manufacturer, I expect absolute best quality, no questions asked. What I received was a poor excuse at a $67,000 "top of the line" product.
Whoever was in charge of quality control on the line my truck went down needs to be fired immediately. No more talking necessary, just let the pictures do the talking:
224 miles, BRAND NEW
Imperfections/Issues:
- TERRIBLE paint on driver rear door front lip. See pictures. Absolutely terrible.
- Red debris under clear in left top of hood near cowl.
- Run in paint/clear under hood lip between "LIMITED" emblems and grille.
- Dent in driver side power running board
- 2" square "crease dent" in right upper tailgate
- Radio antenna trim missing a section on the bottom
- Rear power glass HEAVILY SCRATCHED lower left corner from what I assume was dealer scraping off some sort of a sticker with a razor blade.
- Passenger side headlight looks like it was dropped off the line. The projector shroud inside has moved so much it has scratched the bucket of the headlight.
- A LARGE bolt was left by the plant and the dealer in the center console in plain sight. Who know what it goes to.
Also - I have already fixed the radio antenna that looked like it was installed with pliers instead of a wrench. They just demolished the bottom of the antenna, bare metal showing. I just bought a new one.
Lastly, the dealer left the truck in "transport mode" instead of disabling it with the IDS. I called them back and they said just drive it it would go away on its own instead of offering to disable it. Needless to say, youtube took care of that for me on the drive home.
So question is, how do you fix this?
You don't.
I didn't but this expensive of a truck to be hacked on by dealership techs. Any body work would only make it worse due to self inflicted damage caused the the techs. About the only fixable item is the running board. The back glass replacement would lead to interior panels scuffed/damaged and who knows what else.
I have not sent any info on this to Ford yet, wanted to see what the general consensus on here was. If I was nitpicking a 30K XLT it'd be a different story, this thing is supposed to be perfect, so says Ford themselves.

Tailgate damage (almost impossible to capture in pics) and bottom section of radio antenna trim missing.
*** THIS THREAD IS NOT MEANT TO DEBATE INSPECTING YOUR VEHICLE PRIOR TO SIGNING ON THE DOTTED LINE. I ACCIDENTALLY FORGOT MY MICROSCOPE AT THE HOUSE. IT SHOULDN'T BE NEEDED.
FORD SAID THE LIMITED TRUCKS WERE THEIR BEST PRODUCT, HENCE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHAT I RECEIVED. PERIOD.

waiting for pics but did you see/notice any of these issues in a pre-delivery inspection?

No offense, but some of those issues are problems that should have been identified before you took delivery of it. Your point about it being acceptable on a lesser trim level isn't valid. The paint should be perfect or pretty damned close to it on the base model XL all the way up to the Limited. Trim level shouldn't have anything to do with it since they are painted on the same assembly line using the same processes.
The rest of the issues may have been caused by the dealership themselves. Hell the paint problems could be the dealers fault.
Sometimes the dealerships run them into stuff while parking them on the lot and fix them without the customer knowing and ensuring that the repair never hits a vehicle history report. Again this is why inspection prior to accepting delivery is hugely important.

Not accepting delivery, followed by contacting Ford with the issues, would have resolved all the problems. Clearly your dealer caused some of them.

Admit it or not, but me and all you guys both know we're not going to set out in the dealer lot for 4 hours going over the truck with a fine tooth comb. I NEVER in a million years expected it would be this bad.
I am SUPER picky about my vehicles, period. Otherwise, I wouldn't have a Limited. I find things others would not.
Working on pics now.
