So it’s replaced. I do have a step in. My gate doe we’ll see if this one goes out. Not a good sign if they only last 8 months on a new truck!

Sorry... Ford did it all. I just brought it in and they replaced it, no questions asked.

I had this problem. Took the connector apart and sprayed both ends with electrical parts cleaner. Problem solved.

My electric actuator actually worked, it was just too feeble to actuate the lock. I blasted it out with compressed air and lightly lubricated it and no difference. It needs replaced. But so far I am getting my butt kicked trying to find it on the parts fiche!

Rubber stopper
Hey guys, I had the same problem and managed to fix mine. I wish I took a video when i had it apart but I'll try to explain it the best I can. So my actuator was making the clicking noise but it would not unlock/open the tailgate. I couldn't access the panel on the tailgate because I have a tonneau cover but with extreme force I managed to finally open it. After inspecting all the parts I noticed a rubber stopper in the locking mechanism had come loose and jammed the mechanism so it wouldn't release. I had to take it apart in order to press it back in and seat properly. Now it works fine. Hope this helps some guys.
