Default Tailgate Tension Cable

I found some threads state that one tension cable is enough to carry the tailgate weight plus its load when the tailgate is open. I bring this up because my truck has one slack tension cable on the passenger side.

Do you need not to worry about twisting your precious tailgate if the free end has more load than the other?

Thanks.

However it looks like one is just a backup. And also it depends whether FMC can fit in perfectly or not, thus, they are always right. To me it's not right and it looks weird. I don't need to bother my local dealer any way.
