How's it going everyone, pardon my ignorance for formalities but this is my first thread post and I've searched this forum like I was trying to find the Holy Grail. Does anyone know if a 2018 tailgate will fit a 2015 XLT?

 

I was trying to find out the same thing, and apparently it will.

FWIW, The 2018 Raptors have the option of coming with a 15-17 tailgate with the Raptor applique or the 2018 tailgate with a Ford oval and Raptor emblem which also has the embossed F-150 and no applique. So I'm sure the 2018 would bolt right on a 2015-2017.


Top is 2018 style tailgate, bottom is 2017 style, both available on a 2018 Raptor if you build yourself. They should be interchangeable.

Considering that we are on the subject of tailgates, can anyone out there confirm for me that a tailgate from a 2008 will fit a 2014. All the research I have been doing indicates that it will, but I'd like to be sure before I drive 3 hours to get it. The one from the 2008 is in fantastic condition, and even comes with a key in the event the tailgate handle & lock assembly from my 2014 isn't interchangeable. FYI, I am trying to renew as best I can, a 2014 with 200,000 hard earned kilometres on it that came from my brother's construction company. I'm getting there but as a senior l live on a very fixed income, so being frugal is necessary for me.

 

Probably be better to ask in the forum dedicated to the 2014s, since this is for 2015+ and is a completely different design

 

I know it is an old post but did you find out if the 2018 tailgate fit the 2015? I would like to put a 2018 on my 2017. Let me know. Thanks
