The wonderful thing about cheap options (like the tailgate step) is that if you don't use it, no big deal, but the moment you need it, it's there. If you didn't buy it, there might always come a day when you go "sh*t...I shoulda bought that..."

Setup took some time the first time but next time will be a breeze... Take down is nothing. 3 poles and a bunch of straps.

I've only had one chance to use it so far and I love it! It was a rainy weekend but stayed completely dry. It's nice being off the ground, especially in the rain. Had a full truck bed sized air mattress inside.

I have loaded pallets of 500+ lbs with a forklift, sliding them right over the pole, and it's never been a problem. Sure it's a little scratched up, but other than that, no issue.

I originally bought it since the kids thought it was a cool feature, but I've been using it a LOT more than I thought I would. Will be very handy when loading the truck up for camping as well. Well worth the $$$ IMHO.

The pole doesn't have to be out when loading with forklift you can put the pole back or put the step back in. I wouldn't count that as a negative.
