I have a 2018 with a tonneau cover. If I drive down a dirt road it just sucks dust and dirt in through the seams on the ends of the tailgate. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how have you solved it.
This seems like a must have! Is there any kind of warranty that comes with it? I am a bit apprehensive that it would stick long term and for a cost of over $100Cdn I would want a decent guarantee...which seems like it does work well, great idea and will be putting on my list of things I would like to add to my truck eventually
My 2015 F150 tail does not have a uniform gap all along between the bed and the tail gate. I wonder why ford did not make that gap a uniform distance? The gap widens considerable at the bottom coroners both vertical and horizontal for about 4 inches or so. The weather strip sealing material that fits nicely in most of the narrower areas certinally can't span the gap in the wide areas. See photo for my fix. The added extra hollow designed weather stripping spans the open gap area and crushes down to zero as the gap narrows down. I installed this about 18 months ago, seems to be working.
There are other places for dust to enter looking up along the sides of the trucks bed side walls, you will see openings. If you look up from the outside in the finder well area, you can see day light showing from inside the trucks bed area. I have thought of fastening a sponge in the bed area (friction fight might even work), as kind of a fine filtering media, that's a breathable blockage to the opening areas allowing any flexing of camper shell top to breath through the opening. Also a place for moisture to escape. Not a real significant problem, I discovered it while driving on a 10,000 miles trip as I noted dust building up on the top of the wheel wells. You will find another area further forward.
The front of the bed has vents in the flooring, they don't seem to be a problem for dust.
