Default Tailgate Release

Looking at the fuse panel descriptions I found that fuse 16 (passenger side) is tailgate release. Is this tailgate lock/unlock? Thanks in advance.

No that would be Lariat and above, tailgate release. For example, push a button on keyfob and the tailgate drops slowly. No hands needed.

Have you removed the Tailgate, for anything? The connector for the camera and tailgate lock, are both on the same conmector under the bed!

Maybe check if the connector is lose.
