Default Tailgate Recall Help

Hi all - I had the unintended tailgate opening experience so I took my 2019 in for the recall and now I can't open my tailgate when the truck is running. I tried the unlock button, key fob unlock, and tailgate button itself several times but nothing seems to make it on latch other than turning the truck off.

It's been back to the dealer again and the only thing they said they could do was confirm that I had the latest software on the BCM, which it does. Is there something I'm missing here or does the recall really not allow you to open your tailgate when the truck is running? If the latter is true, when is this getting fixed because it's an enormous inconvenience.

Thanks for the help!

My 2018 lets me open the tailgate running or not, may need to find another dealer. Good luck.

Mine had a software update, not the switch replacement, and it opens with the truck running. I think I have to press the tailgate button twice.

I thought this is what they did with the "fix"? This is what others are reporting. Apparently a few dealers have been willing to make software changes that allow it but I think only being able to open it when it's off is part of the fix.
