Probably should have searched. My new- used 15 SCab XLT has a 5/16 inch hole inside the tailgate behind the handle? In my mind there should be a plug to keep moisture from the latch and camera. Or is it no big deal? Thanks in advance, newb question.

 

Both the latch and the camera are designed for outdoor use. That is to mean, they are rated for water spray. I would not worry about it, but plugs abound on Amazon.

 

The hole is secure the tailgate extender when it's out over the tailgate
