I'll try to find the link but do a quick search on YouTube for tailgate hack and you'll find this hose clamp hack that makes it extremely hard to steal in a timely manner it'll buy you like 5 minutes if he's not prepared with a screwdriver and you can always switch out the screw with some sort of Random bit screw so it makes it even tougher... I'll look for the link but you shouldn't have a hard time getting it

Got a question, how do you keep your tools locked and covered? Why bother with the tailgate when a topper is easier to get into. As for autolock, the tailgate is locked when the truck is locked. Go out and try to open it, leaving your keys in the house. The tailgate is locked. If you have a hard cover of some type, it makes it hard to get to the inside panel to remove it and bypass the lock. As a suggestion, replace the screws that lock that panel on the tailgate with security screws. Very few people who would rip you off carry a set of security drives in their kit. They just want to rip and run.

Bought mine used and it has the McGard lock on it well which looks like a plastic coated hose clamp. Cant find the key to it anywhere though.
