Default Tailgate Issue

The other night I opened the tailgate on my 15 XLT SCrew and the tailgate popped right off on the right side. This never happened on my 14 F150, and never has happened on my dad's 12 Super Duty. When I took it to the dealer this morning he assured me it was normal and the tailgate is made to come off easy on the right side. Is there any truth to this statement? Here are some pics of both the left and right side hinge. The right side doesn't look normal to me

Tough to get a good visual.

Yes the tailgate is made to come off easy, but not to just pop off every time you lower the tailgate. If it does that, then something is not fitting or made correctly.

Used to happen to me with my Ram, hasn't happened to me with the 150. If you open the tailgate one handed and apply outward pressure (i.e. hanging onto the handle and turning away from the truck) you can pull the tailgate out once it hits just the right spot in the rotation to pop out of the bracket.

That was my thought as well. I opened my 14's tailgate the same way as I do on my 15, and it never just popped off. I may have pulled outward on the handle while it was lowering which may have caused it, but still, that never happened on my 14. If it happens again I guess I'll take it back and have them fix it

I did hold the handle while letting it lower at first. However, I did this on my 14 as well and never had this issue. That's why I think it's weird. I may just have them take another look and see if anything is broken or not fitting right if it happens again
