I haven't done this yet, but from my understanding the tail gate is pretty easy and involves opening up the compartment on the inside of the tailgate. It is the front grill that is a pain in the butt because it involves physically removing the whole grill to get good access. If you need to do the grill there are a few videos on youtube.

The back side of the emblem has 2 or 3 plastic pins for alignment. The backside is mostly hollow. The 2 sided tape is mostly about n the perimeter. Dental floss is one of the recommended tools to cut the 2 sided tape for removal. Might want to wash the tail gate to remove dirt especially around the emblem. Wouldn't want to scratch the paint with sawing action required to remove the emblem. You might get lucky and it will pull off. The adhesive that might be left on the tail gate can be removed with 3M adhesive remover or a 3M eraser wheel for your drill. It really works just don't go to fast and heat up the paint. Here's a pic of a removal wheel. Good luck.

Kenny, the tailgate emblem is easy. Just need to remove the tailgate panel. Then you can access the back of the emblem. Double sided tape and some pins. Pretty easy.

Agree, tailgate is extremely easy. Remove the back panel and there is is, held in with some clip. I just got a long screw driver and pushed down gently but steadily with the screwdriver on the large black part, then with needle nose pliers went and pinched the clips and also push downward. Took a little pressure but once it starts going it comes right out. I have a tailgate step so I couldn't get my hands in there thats why I used the longer tools.

I was afraid that I was going to break mine. The double sided tape was really stuck. but it came out. I think my biggest issue was getting my fat hands in there.
