Default Tailgate ajar display?

After seeing in the manual that I should get a tailgate ajar display if the tailgate isn't latched close, I noticed I never get that.

Then I read in the TSB thread that there was a TSB for it always being in even when closed. It appears that the TSB disabled this so it never comes in even when the tailgate is open.

Is this why my tailgate ajar display never comes in, because it's been disabled by a factory TSB???

I think only certain year model and trim gets the tailgate ajar feature.

Also, I honestly don't think its necessary. I wouldn't worry about it. Many people ride with the tailgate down to haul stuff. That warning would most likely be annoying. Plus, you should be able to see your tailgate in the rear mirror if it's closed or not. If for some reason you can't see it and the tailgate was not fully shut, it would most like rattle/squeak as you move.

That feature should be there with the remote open feature. Imagine you have a trailer hooked up. As you jump in the truck you accidentally hit the open button on the remote. The jack on the trailer effs up your tailgate as you start driving away. I can't believe the fix was to disable it.
