Default Tail lights intermittent.

So I recently broke my tail light when putting my boat in reverse but luckily just tapped the tail light enough to not cause any more damage. I have recently replaced the taillight which has bliss incorporated into it as this is a platinum F1 50 and now my tail lights intermittently are not working. I also have a opt seven taillight bar underneath my tailgate but that was working as well as the previous taillight with no issues. When the tail lights don't work it's all of the tail lights, including bar under tailgate.

I have since taken it to Ford and the dealer is unable to find the problem. But after receiving the truck the tail lights did not work for a time being the next morning. I don't know if it's the new taillight potentially or a wire either in the new assembly or tailgate bar throwing the tail lights off. But when the problem happens no turn signals or brake lights work as they are the same location. I also noticed when coming home if the tail lights are not working I will turn my vehicle off and back on and they will start working could this potentially be enough movement to jiggle a wire and get them working? Any thoughts would be awesome

Well, my guess is something is going on with that new tail light. What I would try is putting the original back in to test it, if it works then you know its the new light. The only I can think of is whatever is wrong with that light, the BCM which controls it, is killing the power to the light because it thinks something is wrong. I'm guessing you lose both tail lights, but the brake/turn signal on the other side still works when you have trouble. I'm also guessing the tail light you purchased is identical to the bad one.

HMM - I'd guess something is wrong with the new tail light module or it was somehow damanged on install etc.

First thing I would do - disconnect the one you installed. and disconnect the tailgate light bar. Incidentally how is that light bar wired up?

Now to make sure I'm reading this whole thing correctly. you can start the truck - no tail, turn or brake lights work - does BLIS go wonky too?. Some % of the time this situtation happens - others the truck is fine. When it happens - a shutdown/restart fixes the issue for a moment.

Do you know if the lights stop working while you are driving? IE you know they are working in the driveway but by the time you get to ____ they are not working?

only thing I can thing of off hand is that the new light module got shorted or was damaged during install or shortly there after - and it's mucking up the works. Another option is when the incident happened your light strip got damaged and it's mucking up the works.

Otherwise I might have other questions for you.
