Default Tacky Steering Wheel ???

Is it just me or others notice sticky / tacky steering wheel ? Mine is not leather wrapped wheel. Just the standard type material. 2016, XLT Reg Cab , 1900 miles.

I had my truck at service dept Friday and picked it up after work 5:00. When I got in truck to leave I noticed it felt sticky but just figured they may have wiped off steering wheel to clean off any grease, dirt or grime they may have got on wheel. However, I have tried cleaning it numerous times but wheel still has a tacky feel to it. Annoying as crap when driving. Whenever you slide your hand around while driving or move hand to other position on wheel it feels sticky. This truck has been in their service dept several times but has never felt like this after picking it up. It seems like it’s only the outer ring of wheel, as other parts feel slick / smooth. I’m hoping they didn’t clean it with something that may have reacted with material.

The steering wheel actually had a dull look to it. I tried to clean it with a wet rag "water only" didn't work. Tried dawn dish detergent and wet rag to rinse as well as some vinyl / leather cleaner and that did no good either.

If i mention this to dealer they will think i am nutz and deny doing anything. Thats how this dealer operates. I have been lied to over and over by them. I have already had regional rep working with them over vibration / rear-end whining, and 3 times for them to diagnose bad fuel pressure switch.

I am the guy that walks in and they give me that here he comes again look.

I have that wheel. Mine is not tacky or sticky and I get in the truck with dirty and greasy hands often.

I'm pretty sure something isn't right. I'm hoping this wasn't one of those brake cleaner cleans everything . Don't take me wrong because i use brake cleaner a lot.... but never on interior.
