Default Sync3 update did not generate .XML file

I just updated my 2017 XLT to the latest build of SYNC3 v3.0. It did not generate the .XML file that Ford wants me to upload to their website to confirm the update. My SYNC3 screen does show the new build number. Forget about it, or pursue it?

I did the update to 3.0 (from 2.3) a while back. While the update did generate an xml file, the web site won't accept it when I tried to upload it (tried on multiple browsers).

My Sync system shows 3.0, and I have the upgrades/updates, so I'm just rolling with it and not sweating it.

Same with mine. I gave it up. Then two months ago it did an over the air update all by itself.

Same here. No big deal. I just wrote the revision number and date installed in my maintenance log book.

The last updates with my truck and the wife's Escape took a week or more to show up on the owners site.

I too couldn't get the xml file to upload on the Ford site, regardless of browser. I gave up since I knew the truck was in fact updated.
Then a month or 2 later I went into my Ford Owner site and it showed the latest update and the date of the update which was about 1-2 months after I actually did it.
I suppose the date the owner site shows is the date it finally gets confirmed via wifi not when the truck actually received the update.
No biggy, all is well now.

You got lucky as so many have not been able to "confirm" on the Ford site with the XML file.
Maybe they fixed something on their end.

Open the XML file up with Excel (as a table), and you can look at the differences between updates and builds.

The current update was quite quick less than 14 days and went from 4U5T-14G381-AM to 4U5T-14G381-AN

Having trouble updating over Wifi? Well the AM file appeared not to self extract even though it was being downloaded via Wifi thus no update. The AN version seems to extract okay, so hopefully we can go back to updating over Wifi instead of USB.
