This is my first post here, I have a 2017 XL 5.0 and have a couple of questions:
1. the ford app says there is a sync update but looks like it has to go to the dealer. Is this true? I don't have navigation.
2. Also say I have to CSP's are these like recalls? or does Ford cover the cost
3. I noticed in ForScan that there is a GPS module, but I have no Navigation or anything fancy on the truck, Can it be used?

1. Use a computer and USB drive to update Sync. Follow the directions here: https://www.ford.com/support/sync-maps-updates/ - yes, the website says "maps" update, but if you read it, it actually checks for Sync updates.

3. Not sure what you're asking, but no, it can't be used for anything but the onboard components.

 

On the GPS Module, I was wondering if there are any hidden features more than anything.
