I always suggest that people do what you, I, and many others have done: Include that information in/as your forum signature so it's on every post!

 

Sorry if I came off as a dick in my first post but I got ADD or something because I could never read that much stuff and have it sink in. And I HATE change and technology.
I'm as old school, carburetor's and crank windows as you can get.

Anyway, it must have downloaded something because in my travels this morning it would not connect my phone after I used it once first thing in the trip. Then it popped up "down load SYNC 3.4 .22251 completed successfully. "Then it did a bunch of other weird stuff, then all of a sudden it said my phone was connected about a half hour later.

The display now doesn't show the phone signal bars in the top corner anymore, but everything else seems to be working.

It's a 2020 F150 XLT 300A. No navigation but has a big screen.

 

I did mine in my driveway using my home internet. It only took about 2 hours. Now I have the up-dated screen and there seems to be some new features as well! The phone texts seem to come thru better, the nav seems better. I like it and the price was right!

 

No worries, @F150F550. I'm in my mid fifties with (likey) undiagnosed ADD, but that just makes me go 100MPH in one direction and ignore everything else -- until the next shiny object catches my eye and I stop doing the first thing and go 100MPH in the new direction. LOL.

When it comes to long threads like that, you have to be willing to do SOME reading, but you don't have to read EVERYTHING. I would say read the first 20 or so posts, then read the last 20 or so posts, then use the search feature *within* that thread alone to find anything specific to your vehicle. Unfortunately, with things as complicated as SYNC updates and such, there isn't always a Cliff Notes version, nor will there be a "Oh, here is the solution for your problem" in a thread that only contains 6 posts.

Personally, I love technology, but it frustrates me as well sometimes. Don't take me wrong - I'm a HUGE old school fan when it comes to LOTS of things, including vehicles. But tech does provide some advantages, that's for sure, and if you already own it, why not make sure it's working correctly and as designed to get the benefits out of them?

If you update your "signature" with the info about your truck (see the bottom of all of my posts, as well as many others), people will know enough about your truck to offer advise whenever you ask.

To update your signature:

In the upper right corner, click the down arrow next to your username
Click User Control Panel
On the left under the Settings & Options header, click Edit Signature
Fill the box with whatever you want to be added to the bottom of ALL of your posts
Click Save Signature at the bottom

Now that will get appended to every one of your posts. You can always come back and edit it at any time.
