Sync labelling artists wrong
I ripped all my music to a thumb drive some time back and have been noticing I have some errors in names and artists.
I took my thumb drive in and made the corrections using Mp3tag.
Everything looks great on the Windows end of things. I checked all the data.
When I put the drive back in my truck and it catalogs all the albums / songs, some of them are still very wrong.
I double checked the info again and I am stumped.
Let me add this.
This fall I tried to reset all the data on my stereo so I removed the positive terminal from the battery for about 2 hours.
When I reconnected it, my radio station favorites didnt change, so I know something is retaining memory. Could this be whats causing my music to remain mislabeled? BTW, one such artist Elliot Easton was correct on the thumb drive. I did update the album artwork, but the artist name is still wrong on the stereo.
Any ideas how to force the memory clear on this?

Good question -- I don't have an answer, but I'll tag along.
I've also noticed that the artist/album art that Sync displays is often not the artwork that's embedded in the media file. No idea where it gets the artwork from. Maybe the two issues are related.

In my case, I am providing the correct artwork.
I think to answer your question, it could be coming from Gracenote. Now that I type this, I need to see if I can turn it off, and if so, will my albums then be correctly titled. I will let you know.

Known bug. Even if you disable Gracenote, it’s still enabled and takes precedence over media tags/art. Fixed in version 3.0 of Sync3 (that’s an entirely different topic).
