Default SYNC/ Iphone issues

Posting this for my brother. He bought a 2021 F250, 8 inch display without GPS. When using his phone via bluetooth in the truck you can hear him perfect. If he has the phone plugged into the USB port, it makes it hard to hear him as if he's far away. He has tried switching to new Apple cords and no luck.

Any chance have any of you experienced this and how did you fix it.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Not personally, but with other CarPlay connection issues, I’ve deleted my phone from the system, reset Sync to factory settings, and it usually fixes it

He tried, not sure if he did it right or not. It's kinda crazy. When he's talking via Bluetooth, you can hear him crystal clear. As soon as he plugs it into the USB he sounds like he's sitting the back seat.

Because when the phone is plugged in, he’s no longer using Bluetooth (and the truck’s built-in microphone) but is instead using the phone’s mic?

During the call, has he tried switching the phone back to the truck’s audio/BT by tapping the phone’s “audio” button?

Yesterday, he took it to the dealership. The tech said that he's seen this happen on a few units. Pretty much said they are going to have to blank out the head unit and re-install. I'm gonna get him to double check his phone settings. Seems like a better solution than reprograming everything.
