Default Sync errors

Probably should post in the other the thread but figured it would get lost in there. Tried to update. Got 32 gig thumb drive, formatted to exFAT. Downloaded files from the ford site and unzipped with Windows explorer. Copied to the thumb drive. Inserted in usb in truck and it said updating. When finished it said to turn off and restart in 5 minutes. So far all by the book. Restarted and it gave message that update failed. Went to work and reinserted derive. After, message that insufficient space.. Went back and downloaded again. Retried and now said a file is missing. Now voice recognition is not working. What to do next????

- ensure no files on USB thumb drive.
- download part 1 and unzip on cpu.
- transfer unzipped file to USB drive.
- plug into vehicle while vehicle is running.
- wait..........................until done.
- remove drive
-delete part one from USB drive.
-download part 2 and unzip onto cpu.
-transfer unzipped part 2 onto USB drive.
-plug into truck while running
-wait...................until complete.

If this doesn't work, try a different brand USB drive. Hope this helps.

I saw a Youtube video before I did my update that said to download the update to your desktop. Then drag and drop it onto the USB, or it wouldn't work. Don't copy or export it over. It didn't explain why, but I did it that way and it worked the first time with no issues. You might try that.

go to the sync thread and follow the instructions for installing one file at a time. maybe around page 300

you edit the autoinstall file in "Notebook" on your pc.

I had 4 failed attempts and this worked 1st time.

I shut the truck off after each file I installed. 1st 3 files took seconds to complete the 4th and 5th took maybe 10 min ea and the 6th took only seconds also.

when it completed I checked the flash drive on pc and had the .xml file .

I waited 10 min to restart truck ver 2.2 and gracenotes had a version number where after my 1st failed attempt it was gone

Thank you. Hope I am smart enough to figure out how to edit the autoinstall.
