Sync Can't Find Mobile Apps
Greetings! Lost my original thread on here and I don't know how, why? So I started a new one. My 2016 F150 currently has Sync 3, Version: 3.0 Build 19205_ Not only my phone apps cannot be found on Sync, but yesterday in 3 hours road time my phone didn't charge at all even though the charging symbol showed on my phone. I have an Android phone. So as someone previously suggested, I may have a bad hub. Previous suggestions include searching for Sync 3 updates on WIFI and installing them. Tried downloading an available update by WIFI twice for several hours and never completed the update. I have since done a Master reset. I was given advice to do an update through Cyan Labs. I went to that website and it didn't like my ad blockers so I went on with Chrome as the browser. When I clicked to start the update I got a full screen ad from from Apple something or other that wanted my credit card # and other information. No apparent way to close that out except doing a restart on my PC. So I have a few questions.
1. Has anyone ever had the Cyan Labs ask for their CC info in order to do the download? I would feel better about that if they would say upfront that it costs X number of dollars and I would pay for it.
2. I would gladly replace the hub if that fixes my problems, however I have watched a couple of YT videos whereby after the hub is changed an error message comes on that needs closed out every time. How do I make sure to purchase a hub that doesn't cause that message?
3. I will be changing my internet service to Starlink soon. Do you think that the faster download speed will give me a better chance to put the Ford Motor Co. software update into my F150?
4. I was happy enough with my current version of sync software until I lost my navigation and ability to use my Android apps through the USB cable. If a hub takes me to where I once was, is the software update worth the aggravation?
Thanks in advance for your help and I apologize to the 2 guys helping me prior to my thread disappearing.
