So I've connected my truck to wifi (2016 f150 lariat) and it says last checked for updates: -current time- but the system still has version 1.0 I've searched online and the forums but all they talk about is the automatic update button. I've tried the master reset, anybody else have any ideas or suggestions to get this to update. I want to install CarPlay but want to make sure I have the right software version first before i order the hardware.

 

Go to owner.ford.com and download the update to a USB and then follow their instructions.

 

never try updates over wifi. They just don't work for 999 out of 1000 trucks.

USB update + new usb module will get you carplay.
