I just bought 2016 F150 XLT sport with 3.5L Ecoboost. I'd like to know if anyone has any info on when CarPlay will work. I have searched can't find anything.

 

When Ford releases the update with the functionality. No exact dates were given except, "sometime in 2016."

The 2017 Escape will be the first Ford vehicle to have Android Auto and Apple Carplay integrated into Sync 3.

Production on the Escape starts 3/21/2016, which means vehicles will begin arriving at dealers in early April. So, other vehicles will definitely have to wait until sometime in April, but I would be surprised if the upgrades to other vehicles started before June/July.

That is especially true for the F150, which, as Ford's best-seller, they can't afford to screw up. They will take extra time to make sure the software is fully baked before release.

 

I wonder if it will be a free upgrade, or if there will be a cost to it?
