Sync 3 USB audio playback problems
I have been using the same USB flash drive in my 2018 Lariat for several months now. I have about 8,000 tracks on it organized in directories by Artist then by Album. For the most part, the system works as expected. But I can't find anyone posting these problems or a solution:
Problem 1: However, today I discovered that one of my albums (for which the files are m4a files) will not play the complete tracks. It randomly jumps ahead to the next track after playing about 60-90 seconds of each track. But I have other albums with m4a tracks that work just fine. Even weirder is I'm fairly sure I've played these same tracks with no problem before.
Problem 2: Even though I leave the USB drive plugged into the truck all the time, it seems like _almost_ but not every time I start up the truck, the stupid Sync 3 is re-indexing my whole USB drive again. WHY?! I can't find anywhere that lets me disable the automatic reindexing, and it prevents me from using voice commands or searches for audio until the whole thing is done again. This is stupid.

I have an update to this that may help. In diagnosing problem 1 above, I pulled out the flash drive and put it in my computer. There I found that all the m4a tracks that were skipping were actually truncated. in other words, even though their header metadata still showed the full minutes and seconds it was supposed to be, the audio data itself had gotten chopped off. This is a pretty serious bug that somehow Sync 3 system did that to my files. However, I reformatted the whole flash drive and re-copied my music and so far the problem hasn't happened again. But without isolating the cause, I fully expect it to happen again some day.
On my problem 2: Is there really no one else annoyed by the Sync 3 system slowly re-indexing the music every day or more, with no changes? And no way to disable it?
