I just bought a 2016 screw king ranch and the entertainment screen has been having a very delayed response to any buttons I select. I will try pushing the audio tab with no reaction. A full minute later it finally responds.
I've done a reset and connected it to my internet with automatic updates enabled. After checking my VIN on the Ford website, there is an available update but no option for how to apply it. Can anyone please help point me in the right direction for how to get the update and if that might help with the lag?
I have a lot to read and learn about our trucks and eager to do so.....when the kids give me a chance!

 

You should have an option to download it to a USB. Then use it to install it. It's quite big for wifi and cannot be interrupted so you will be a long time waiting in the truck while downloading and loading it in the system

The Sync 3 literature mentions that it can update over WiFi. I have never had success with WiFi and don’t recall anyone on the forum doing it either.

Take the suggestions to use USB and follow the directions exactly.

Even following the directions, I have had to do it multiple times to get the updates to take.

 

Always had to use the thumb drive for updates on my previous 2016. My 2020 updates via wifi. One update took a couple of weeks.
