2016 King Ranch 3.5

First real issue I've ever had with this truck, except the rear end bunny hop, which was rectified with Fox 2.0s.


Anyone ever had your sync3 screen go black on startup? Was working perfectly with the 2.2 update for several weeks. Got in it today to go home from work, and the screen never came up normal. It stayed black and I could see a few white letters barely visible. Nothing worked, except audio, but not from the screen.


Just removed the negative from the battery. Gonna let it sit for 1/2 hour and see if it resets. Weird

 

Sync 3 2.2 has been a nightmare for me... although I haven't had the screen go black. I have had the Navigation go black or go white and the back up screen only show the truck silhouette in the upper right.

My truck goes in Thursday to find out what's up.

Update: Removing power via the batter disconnect did the trick for me. Left it disconnected about 30 min., and it came back to life upon being reset. Hope you have good luck with yours Josh.

 

You can reset Sync while driving by pressing the Radio On and Fast forward at the same time.

Mine went black once while I was driving. The screen became unresponsive then just went black. It was odd because the radio kept playing for a while until it reset itself. It happened only that one time, my truck was about a month old and it hasn't happened since.

 

This happened to me and my cluster went black too. Apparently, there is a TSB out for it. Took at the dealership cleared the codes and knock on wood, I haven't had the issue return.
