Unhappy Sync 3 problems on 2017 King Ranch

I have a 2017 KR that has its SYNC 3 system going whacko. My iPhone goes on and off Bluetooth during phone conversations. If I use the voice commands to call someone, the voice from SYNC talks in several slowly broken statements. Navigation is pitiful. Sometimes I will be driving, and the indicator is showing the road away from my present position. With a little red circle indicator saying no GPS. Slow, commands, pushing the buttons on the screen has a terribly slow response. One day, I noticed last week, that the screen of my SYNC system was warm to the touch. It worried me so much, that I went into my settings and lowered the brightness level to see if that would help it run cooler. It didn't help. It must be on it's last leg. To make matters worth. My KR is just out of warranty with mileage at 40,000 miles. With my past experiences with FORD's good quality, I opted not to buy the $3000.00 extended warranty. So it looks like I could be out a good chunk of money to have a new SYNC 3 system installed. An automotive mechanic friend of mine thinks it needs a new sync module. Before I proceed, I wanted to check with you my fellow F150 owners to see if you have had similar problems, and if so, how did you rectify it? Is this an ongoing issue with SYNC 3? Has FORD had any recalls on this issue?

I haven't heard of wide spread issues, nor any recalls. Sync 3 has been out for a while and has been pretty solid. However, it is electronics and they can go it or have a problem at any time.

As far as the warranty goes, likely this will be less than $3000, so you should still be ahead in that game.

Sounds like your APIM has **** the bed, welcome to the club! Several guys on here are on their 2nd and 3rd.

It's about $1,000 total to replace if I remember right. I have an ESP which picked up the tab.
