Default SYNC 3 Non Nav

I just updated my SYNC 3 to version 3.0 on my 2016. I have the Non-Nav version. I know Apple Car Play wasn’t available until 2017 models. I thought I read somewhere that you can upgrade the USB module, which would allow those of us with 2016’s to have Apple Car Play (and hopefully Waze)?

Has anyone with a 2016 done this?

Yes, I did on my '16 XLT w/column shifter. It's a quick inexpensive replacement. After the install, the head unit recognized Apple Carplay and the Android Auto...

Awesome. Sounds like we have the same truck (XLT w/column shifter). Do you happen to know the part # you bought? I tried looking around, but it seems like there are several different options.

Ford part #: HC3Z-19A387-B, this one lights up blue.

I bought it off of eBay from Fairway Ford, who was selling it for the lowest price at the time.
