SSM 48340 - 2016-2019 Various Vehicles - Equipped With SYNC 3 – Infotainment Screen Concerns After SYNC Update

Some 2016-2019 vehicles equipped with SYNC 3 may experience a map displayed on the left half of the SYNC screen with no other information/soft buttons present after updating to the latest version of V3.0 software. This issue occurs when the SYNC 3 system has been previously modified using an aftermarket device to display the Ford GT welcome screen/HMI Theme. To correct this issue, please contact the Technical Hotline Assistance Center to have the vehicle restored back to its original state.

Yep, it seems Ford has figured out that those that changed the As Built data in the APIM using FORScan to display the GT Theme is the cause of this issue.

Good thing I went ST theme instead.

I was running the GT theme, but heeded the warnings and changed to ST before I upgraded past 3.0. Glad I did!

Do we know if this only applies if it is done before 3.x what happens if done after 3.x

I was running the Blue GT theme, as well. I'm now glad that I had the foresight to return to As Built prior to the update!

You can change the theme after the upgrade screws up your GT theme. I changed to GT350 cot now. Still not sure what I will stick with though.
