Sync 3 failure
So how many people are having Sync 3 freezing, losing connection to you phone, lost gps signal on screen, etc? What phone are you connecting with? This system is a joke and is turning into the same failure that My Ford touch was. Ford needs to step up, stop ignoring the issue and extend the warranty for 5 years like they did with My ford touch. Everyone leave your complaints in this thread, hopefully someone from Ford will reach out and do the right thing and help us out with the Sync 3 system. The problem is, I don’t Ford even knows what to do but keep throwing new APIMS at it. It can’t be that hard, every other mfg has problem free Bluetooth for over 10 yrs now, Cmon ford get in the game and find a permanent fix.
Had my APIM replaced a while ago. Been good so far. Had an iPhone 6s Plus when I first got the truck, then an iPhone 10 (APIM crapped the bed shortly after I got this phone), now I have an iPhone 11 Pro connected with no issues.
Which module is 'APIM'? And what does it run? I just had my first issue with my truck today, and I'm 600+ miles from home. After starting the truck, NAV didn't work. Map was showing at the left half of the screen, as always, but frozen. Everything else worked. Shut off truck to 'reset' it, now left half of screen is black, so still no nav, but also no audio, and phone seems connected, and rings, but can't answer it, can't dial, or anything else. Did a master reset, but did nothing. Wonder what the hell happened. I started a thread about this; hopefully will get some answers, but I'm suspecting this APIM thing is at least part of the issue. Very frustrated. Truck has 11K miles and less than 1.5 years old. Bought it right off the truck, never an accident, and no modifications justifying this issue. Oh well.
