Sync 3/4DTech Question?
I bought and installed the 4DTech 4.2” to 8” sync 3 conversion kit back around the first of May this year. Installed in my 2016 XLT and it has worked perfect. Now I am considering trading or selling the truck in the near future for a super duty.
I still have the factory 4.2” unit that I would put back in the truck before trading it in as I almost always return a vehicle to stock beforehand.
So my question is can the 4DTech sync 3 kit be sold and used/reprogrammed to another 15-17 F150 with a different VIN? I know it would get some interest just wondering if it can be done. I would probably post it up here for sale. Thanks!

My understanding is that the Can-Opener programmer is locked to the VIN if your truck, so it probably wouldn't work. The larger issue might be un-programming your 2016 XLT to go back to the 4" screen, not sure if simply swapping it back out will make it work.
