My suggestion is to DO NOT upgrade to that 'unauthorized' (for our trucks, anyway) version if you're under the 3/36 warranty. Especially with all the APIM issues our trucks are having. Mine acted out at just 11K miles, and less than 1.5 years of ownership. It hasn't happened again, and just finished updating both the Sync3.0 software (from build 17276 to 19205) and the 2018 map update. Hope it was one of those things that caused the malfunction, but everybody here told me it's the beginning of APIM failure. We'll see. But I don't want to give Ford any excuses not to cover a replacement if it comes to that. I don't have any issues with my Sync, other than the black night motif is awful, but still functional. Just want it to function properly .

I was just coming in to this thread to ask this. You have to figure at some point they will release 3.4 "officially" for 3.3 owners, right? Just a matter of time?

That is what I have been wondering too but here we are in May 2020 and they haven't so I'm guessing they won't officially release it to v3.3 systems.

 

3.4 won't allow you to search/browse for music on a usb drive while in motion where 3.3 would.

Going to try rolling back to 3.3 with cyanlabs syn3 updater.
