My screen is doing the fade to black routine...Sync version 1. The volume and control buttons still work (play/pause), but don't have the info and time/temp. I don't want to 'upgrade' to Sync 3 and don't want the touch screen. However I'm having trouble finding a replacement for the basic version 1 APIM, every search is turning to the upgrade to 3 with touch screen.

I did the 4 to 8 swap. Its great. I'll sell you my sync 1, its never going back in.

 

My calloused fingertips and touchscreens don't really get along, prefer ***** and buttons.

I'd be interested in your used one if it will work in my truck, what is your build date since it seems there are two versions in the '15?

My only question to the community is if it would need to be programmed like the sync3 swaps, and if so is it pretty straight forward through Forscan? I'm having trouble finding info on it since it seems that everyone prefers the sync 3 upgrade.
Found the factory one on parts.ford that says matched my vin, but really would rather not be shelling out $400+ just to get music, time, and temp back on the base model unit.

 

06/15 Still has the original software too. Never been updated.
