Default Swapping the internals of a side mirror?

My drivers side mirror got knocked forward on my truck. It seems to have broken the rubber part in the inside of the mirror that snaps it back into place when unfolding it. I cannot find an mirror anywhere that matched exactly what my mirror has. All the electrical parts of the mirror are fine. Has anyone taken one of these completely apart? I'm wondering if I could buy a base mirror and swap out all the internal parts. Let me know what you think.

2015 - with auto dim, heated, power glass, manual fold, puddle, turn signal, spot light, blind spot glass, 22 pin. Mirror part: FL34-17683-DG5YGY

All of internal parts are swappable. I did it with a set of tow mirrors that were over extended when I was adding 360 cameras to my 17. Just be very careful when doing it.

I swapped both side mirrors on mine lol, don't ask. I have a pile of mirror parts laying around from mirrors I pilfered. Unfortunately I don't have a good drivers side internal structure. I do have a passenger side though. I called a junkyard and found a mirror off a XL base model as cheap as I could find one. Swapped the back half and all the internals along with the wire harness just fine. It's a pita, but can easily be done.

Yes, I have done what you want, even added a temp sensor so it would work for 18 up, where these was no temp sensor at all. Swapped all internals and it really wasn't bad at all.

Maybe try Craigslist or Facebook marketplace to find a mirror you can work with.
