Default suspension tables

I always wondered why the newer f150's 2009 till even the new 2015 have stamped steel suspension tables.
I currently have a 2008 and it has aluminum ones....why the switch? Just doesn't make sense to me apart from cost savings. When I bought my 08, there were vids of ford praising their aluminum tables and now they're gone

"suspension table" = "lower control arm" in english?

The dealer referred to them as tables. So that why I called them that...

I have never heard them being called that...

Here is Tasca Ford's description of this part, and they call it a control arm.

Cheaper is the #1 concern for automotive manufactures. Steel will be stronger, and I would bet that they are similar in weight as well.

Think it's a Quebec thing. When I lived in Montreal and went to the car parts places, often the English places would use a French part name with an English accent. And vica-versa. Always entertaining ...
