Ford SurfaceCare Warranty + Yellow Road Paint
When i purchased my truck in July 2016, i opted for the 7 Year Warranty for their SurfaceCare. On Friday, the people in my township decided to put down new Yellow Paint for the lines on the road i live on. However without realizing this happen (didnt see a Line Truck or signage) the driver side of my truck was tagged (its in the wheel wells, OEM fender Flares, tires, wheels, bottom of my doors, running boards are covered, undercarriage and bumpers). The road i live on is not that wide especially when you have a truck, so if you pass someone on the road, you are basically in the ditch.
So i was reading the Brochure for this SurfaceCare and it said it would cover bird droppings, accidental overspray, road grime, etc... Does anyone know if the Yellow Road Paint would be included in this?
I did go to the dealer that i purchased the truck from with a copy of the warranty, but the Service Lady never heard of this SurfaceCare Warranty before, but she is supposed to call me back on Monday after looking into this...........if she does.
I have a few more call to make on Monday, going to call the township if they will do anything about this. I already called PennDOT about this, but since its not a Highway they don't cover this.
I tried to use Lacquer Thinner and Goof Off, i can get the small piece offs, but the thick baked on stuff will be hard to get off. It already took some of the paint off the OEM Fender Flares (really debating about putting Mud Flaps on the truck, so it would cover those areas, where the paint is missing).
I am just lost right now, I am upset about this and basically feel like i have to live with this, or pay out of pocket to get it fixed and it probably wont be cheap.

The wifey ran through yellow paint with the Explorer. I read about this online. Put a heavy coat of Vaseline on the affected area. Leave it on for a couple of days. It will soften the paint and it will come off. They also recommend WD-40, but it didn’t work for me.

Had this happen to me once with a rental car. I used gas to remove the yellow paint off the bottom of the front drivers side door. I then got a can of flat black paint and sprayed the wheel well before I turned the vehicle in. Everything looked like new.

I would try some paint thinner on the painted surface and spray black paint underneath the truck. I've done this before and it worked for me.
Sorry about your truck! Hope you get it cleaned up without costing you a lot.

Any government agency will not cover anything, including pothole damage. As to the warranty you bought from your dealership, the fact that their employees know nothing about it speaks volumes about the quality of it.
STOP doing anything. If you make it worse, IF they were going to cover anything you give them an out.
