Default Sunroof extra insulation

2015 Platinum, sitting waiting for wife I notice there is considerable more heat on the underside of the panaramic sunroof. The inside is closed of course no sunlight coming thru. Can I do something about the extra heat in this area. I’ve never seen anything advertised.

If you’re going to leave it closed for an extended time, you can do like I do for my Travel Trailer, put Reflectix in it. That’s the foil faced bubble wrap insulation you can find at Home Depot, Lowe’s, ect. Buy a roll and cut to fit. Great for blocking sun and heat for any window.

Default Ceramic tint

I have a 2019 Lariat with the panoramic sunroof and I had it ceramic tinted and it cuts the heat down by about 70%. I live in FL and this way I can still use it year round without having all of the heat.

I bought a Heatshield brand sunroof sunshade, similar to those used on windshields. I do not use the sunroof often in the 100*+ summers in Texas, so it is a good option for me. It is custom fit by model. Easy to put up, close the stock sunshade and forget about it until fall arrives.

I did the same. The ceramic tint really made a difference.

I don't understand why manufacturers don't make the upper surface of sunroof shades reflective instead of black or headliner color. That would help.
