Default Success - Ultragauge MX F150 Transmission Temperature

After purchasing the Ultragauge MX 1.3x and spending time dechipering the UG codes, I got it to show transmission temperature. I know this will work for the P552 / F150 with the 6R80 (2015-2017). I think that the 3.5L was the only one in 2017 to get the 10R and don't know if the code will work for it. Enjoy!

So what does this tell you that the instrument cluster does not?

I can have other information shown in the cluster. I can also set an alarm with the UG if Trans temp goes above/below threshold I set (or any other item I want). Also, allows me to adjust my 6-10% MPG calculation error that the cluster has. Also, since mine is an XLT, I can't do the Lariat + FORSCAN mod on the 8" cluster.

There have been a number of threads showing ScanGuage could do trans temp and no one (as far as my google search) showed that Ultragauge could for the "current" F150. Just wanted to share it with community for those that wanted it.

Ok, Just wondering. I have used a bluetooth OBDII unit to display trans temp and boost when towing.

I though about going BT route, but didn't want to connect in vehicle every time, then run the app, and power the phone. But there are plenty of good apps out there for BT system. The wired UG is just always there. Works for me.

How are you finding the accuracy of the fuel mileage, the fuel remaining and the distance to empty with the Ultra-gauge in the F-150?

I ask because I have one in an older Astrovan and after calibration it has been awesome. At fill up time it is almost always within 0.1 to 0.2 gallons accurate and the MPG matches manual calculation methods within 0.1mpg.

All the stock Ford gauges for this information in my new 2018 F-150 are terrible at this.
I know I'm not the only one with this opinion as I've read several posts on this forum calling the Ford MPG meter the "lie-o-meter"

Thanks
Radian

Still tweeking the MPG accuracy. All OEMs lie, some more than others. I think mine is an odd case

Also, I may have been premature in this thread. I got UG to show me my trans temp of 132....... problem is that's what it showed me after 8 hours in 30's outside ..... ef ... I'll keep looking into it

Default Possible Fix

Sorry it took me so long work has been crazy and I've rarely been home. So, I realized that I had been using the wrong number for the RPOS and have fixed that. I also changed the Math portion (also makes more sense now). It now increments, but I have not had a chance to fully warm the truck as it sits most of the week right now. Please let me know if it works for you, but looks promising to me.

Checked non-running temps this morning after not running for ~36 hrs and they (ECT and TFT) seem to roughly reflect ambient temps. Won't know about fully warmed engine until Friday, but again looking promising. Anyone else get a chance to check it out?

My settings on my scangauge II worked just fine when I went from my 2009 (5.4l 6r80) to my 2016 (3.5 6r80). All the presets and custom gauges worked.
