Subwoofer add - better to NOT use FORscan?
#11
The Lariat HDPP comes with 500a only. That's 7 speaker, Sirius, base radio. I assumed the plug would be there, but it's not. I can see very well in the area and it's not there. Really not that big a deal now that I've pulled power from the battery.. I just need to find a power on lead and tap the front speaker wires on one side. Just more work than I'd hoped.

I suggest using an add-a-circuit or add-a-fuse with the fuse location for the stereo. That way the sub will be on any time the stereo is on.
I’d also suggest tapping the speaker wires behind the stereo and get both left and right channels. 1. Only tapping one side, left per your posts, will mean if lower tones are mostly or only in the right channel, there will be nothing from the subwoofer which will sound odd, 2. If you decide to upgrade other parts of the system later, the source is already done, 3. It should be easier to find the speaker wires behind the stereo vs other areas, 4. there’s usually plenty of room in the dash for the LOC.

FL - is White/brown
FR + is White/Purple
FR - is White/Orange
There are white plugs in each kick panel that have the speaker wires in them. That's where I plan to tap in once I get some good t taps. I've decided to not use passive bassblockers unless I need to.

If I use a bassblocker, would it be better to feed the sub from the rears? The fronts are Polk 6x9s and actually do a decent job of producing bass while the rears are just 6.5s. Or do I want to cancel below 150 to all door speakers and just let the sub do the lows?

What chadfo said. Always sum the stereo channels into 1 mono.
