Default Sub install question

So I have searched the forum but haven't been able to nail down a solid answer on exactly what I need and what I need to do to install a subwoofer and amp. First off I have a 2016 302A, non-Sony, 7 speaker with nav and want to install a subwoofer/amp combo. Let me know if I am correct in my thinking.

1. I need wpt1212, install it behind the driver in the B pillar. I can then connect a line out converter and remote wire to the 1212?

2. Then just wire up power and ground, connect the rca's to the line out converter.

3. Enable sub in forscan

4. Finally in adjust and enjoy

Am i correct in all of this or way off?

I covered everything I purchased and used in my build in the members build area. Here: 2018Build
Yes, it is an 18 but I believe the parts would be the same.
